So, from hear on out things are about to get REAL. We are going to DRINK, laugh, cry, fall in love, maybe fall out of love, go on an adventure, and much, much more. I can’t do any of this without you so don’t go anywhere yet, we are just getting started.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. In 2014, I enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard. I suffered through five months of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. The day I graduated AIT, I was promoted to PFC (Private First Class) and I have since been promoted to SPC (Specialist). During my first AT (Annual Training) I was awarded an AAM (Army Achievement Medal) for performing duties for another MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). Many of you will talk a lot of shit about me being in the National Guard because I only have to train one weekend a month and two weeks during the year. Some of you are already thinking that being in the reserve doesn’t count as being in the Army because I’m not active duty. Did you know that the Reserve and National Guard are the first to deploy not Active Duty Army?? In all honesty I don’t care if you are Reserve, Guard, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Army we all at one point wrote a blank check payable to “The United States of America”, for an amount up to and including our life. So we should be damn proud of past, present, and future members of the Armed Forces not putting them down for being in a different branch.
If you are still reading this then Thank You for being a loyal reader after my rant lol. Since you are still reading I guess I can tell what I do full-time. I’m a Donor Center Technician and Phlebotomist trainee at Grifols-Talecris Plasma Resources. People come in to donate plasma, eventually their plasma is turned into medicine for burn, trauma and cancer patients. I’m helping donors save patients, before this I was waitress and don’t get me wrong I loved it but I feel as though I’m touching more lives and it makes all the difference.
Congratulations, we made it through my first blog. I’ve only disclosed to you about what I do not who I am. Next blog I am revealing a secret I’ve only told one other person and it’s a big one that I hope none of you have ever experienced. Now it’s your turn to tell me about you. If at least one of you have read this post by next week I’ll let you know what my secret is. Please send an e-mail, message me on FB, follow me on twitter, or send me snail mail. Whatever it is you do tell me what you were thinking about when you were reading this . . . i won’t judge all feedback is welcome
